ITINERARY

Day 1 - Saturday After building the bikes we will go for a short spin out on the flat rolling country side of the Comminges – the ride is at a very easy pace to loosen up the legs and test out the bikes.

Day 2 - Sunday

Early bird run before breakfast which is on a mixture of tarmac and trails (marked course) 

We ride out to the base of the Col Des Ares which is a 30km warm up and then start the mountain Time Trial which is 7km averaging 5% - this climb is a great starter climb but pacing is the key. It is all about improvement!!! 

A gentle swim at the lake to relax the legs and practice some open water swimming.  Then sunbathe and have a beer.

Day 3 - Monday

Early bird run of 6.5km with the option of a 10km loop

 

Swim at the 50m pool – swim technique can be discussed and practiced (swim schedule provided) 

Long bike today with a trip into Luchon and a tough climb of the Col De Portillon into Spain before heading down the valley to our centre in Luscan.

Day 4 - Tuesday

Early bird run 

 

Swimming at the pool with a 400m time trial then some speed work.  Practice any corrections of stroke.

Brick session - Gentle ride today of around 30km but thinking about technique and bike skills with a 20min run straight off the bike to get those legs used to running after riding.

Day 5 - Wednesday

Pyrenees Sprint tri – 1000m lake swim, 20km bike, 3.6km run  This is all about transitions and not speed. Just for fun!!!

Day 6 - Thursday

Early bird run (optional)

 

Gentle swim at the pool – starting with a 400m TT with wetsuits (optional) to compare to Tuesdays time without.

 Mountain run/hike to the beautiful lac d’Oô.  This is a challenging climb up to 1500m, a good test of endurance and altitude. And more beer at the top!!

Day 7 - Friday

Revisit the Col Des Ares for your final ascent of the col – this time with knowledge allowing you to rip the climb and gain your PB.

 

Relaxing lake swim but why not try 2 loops and see how you feel.

Evening BBQ to celebrate the week.
