ITINERARY

Day 1 - Saturday

After building the bikes we will go for a short spin out on the flat rolling country side of the Comminges – the ride is at a very easy pace to loosen up the legs and test out the bikes and to get used to each other in the group.

Easy run to present the routes that are marked up around the area.  All runs are a mixture of trail and tarmac.

Day 2 - Sunday

Lake swim (so bring your wetsuit) to get in the first part of this brick session

 

We bike from the lake to up to the town of Arreau before taking on the Col De Peyresourde and descending into the ski town of Luchon before heading to Spain over the Col De Portillon and back to the centre in Luscan

Afternoon run of your choice to get your legs loosened up

Day 3 - Monday

Swim at the local 25m indoor pool - a schedule is given but as long as you get in your 2500m you will be fine

Today we start our transition to Font Romeu.  Starting from Luscan we head over the Col Des Ares, Col de Buret and then the Col de Portet d'Aspet before heading down into St Girons for lunch.  Then its a climb up the Col de Port before a fantastic downhill experience to the hotel in Tarascon

Get you run in around the town and local spa town of Usat les Bains.

Day 4 - Tuesday

 

 

Early bird run this morning to get it out of the way

 

We now head out for the 2nd half of the route to Font Romeu climbing the long but steady Col de Marmare and Col des Sept Frères.  Then after a 50km descent through the gorge we head up the valley to Font Romeu and a climb before we hit the high altitude training centre.

Relax in the 50m pool and figure out how to breath at this altitude.

Day 5 - Wednesday

Pool session before breakfast, a schedule will be set but its up to you to get the metres in

Andorra Loop - Early set off for the peak ride of the week.  We head down from Front Romeu and into Spain before descending at least 60km into Andorra and then climbing ourselves out of this tiny country,  We head over the highest paved road in the Pyrenees before heading back to the centre.

Day 6 - Thursday

Swim before breakfast

 

We do gentle ride to day to Ax Les Thermes before getting in the van to finish the return journey.  We head back to Luscan and off load the bikes

Short run this morning

 

Final test of the week, a short ride out to the Col des Ares before those tired legs are tested on a mountain time trial of 6.7km.
