CAMPS

We provide two types of Training Camps here at Pyrenees Multisport. These are our own organised training camps that we run ourselves using experienced guides and triathletes and the other is our Hosting Camps, where we provide everything that is required for a Club or Coach needs to have their own training, coaching camp in the Pyrenees.

  • Training CAMP

We have been organising and running training camps since 2005 and have gained an abundance of experience from how the mountains treats the athletes. We do not offer sandy beaches and runs along ocean but we do provide challenging rides and runs through mountain pass and along the wooded trails.

Our organised training camps are detailed to the right of this page. They are classed as “training” camps as that is what they are used for – to improve your fitness and your ability in the mountains (which of course leads to faster times on the flat). We can provide coaching along the way and this of course part of the camp. Just ask whenever you need help and not just from us, we have come to realize that everyone on the camp is able to contribute to the group which makes for a great atmosphere and learning experience.

    Hosting CAMP

If you are looking for a base for your team training camp or need specialist accommodation for an upcoming race then we can provide everything that you will need. We are a purpose designed centre for cyclists in the heart of the Pyrenees close to many of the major climbs. Ian and Julie have been running Pyrenees Multisport for 5 years and have had hundreds of cyclists using their renovated farmhouse as their base for training and holidays. Both are keen cyclists, Ironman triathletes and ultra runners and guide throughout the year in the Pyrenees, the Alps and Corsica.

Your Training Base in the Pyrenees

We offer a range of packages from accommodation only, self catered or fully catered which allows you the ability to stay in the Pyrenees on a very reasonable budget. We can offer meals (using your meal plan or we can provide a menu), transport and plenty of parking for team cars and buses. Your mechanics can use the very well equipped workshop where the bikes can be securely stored. There is plenty of space to set up a massage area and also large rooms for team talks or just to relax.

  • Swimming in the Pyrenees

Swimming in the Pyrenees is exceptional. We are lucky enough to have a choice of 4 open water swim venues within 10 km of the centre. We favour one particular lake which is set aside for swimming and where we hold our mini triathlon and open water swim practice. The water is shallow and warm so everyone can feel confident in swimming either as a group or on their own.

We have full use of a 25m indoor pool which we tend to use at the beginning of the season and from July 1st through to September 1st we use the 50m outdoor pool which is a favorite for local triathletes as well as the Russian Tri Team who spend the majority of the summer in the Pyrenees training and racing.

We also have our Endless Pool at the centre which can be used for swim analysis using the underwater camera or just to get some extra swim training in.

    Running in the Pyrenees

Running in the Pyrenees is only seconded by the cycling. There is plenty of routes to choose from flat to the hideously steep.
We have various marked run routes starting from the centre. These are on a mixture of tarmac and trail and in all cases normal running trainers are fine.

There are also an abundance of fully marked up mountain bike trails that are ideal for the longer trail runs. These can be either on the flat or in the hills behind the centre which rise up to 980m (only 100m short of Snowdon in the UK).
There is a small cinder track available for track sessions if required which happens to be very close to one of the lakes that we can swim in.

We can also take you to the trail heads further into the valley which allows for the spectacular high mountain trails. We have route books available so you can enjoy these fantastic runs and take in the stunning views.
